한국문학번역원 2010 세계작가축제

□ 한국문학번역원(원장 김주연)은 국·내외 작가의 실질적 교류 증대라는 노력의 일환으로 오는 5월 10일(월)부터 14일(금)까지 “세계작가축제”를 개최한다. 2010년 3회째를 맞는 본 행사는 번역원에서 격년제로 개최하는 행사이며,  올해 축제의 주제는 “환상 + 공감”이다. 국·내외 작가 24인 (국내작가 12인, 해외작가 12인)이 참가하는 닷새에 걸친 축제기간에는 낭독회, 작가들의 수다, 지방행사, 서울 국제 도서전 방문 등 다채로운 행사가 펼쳐질 예정이다.

  □ 올해는“서울, 젊은 작가들”이라는 이름아래 치러졌던 두 차례의 예년 행사(2006년, 2008년)와는 달리 모든 연령대의 작가들을 아우를 수 있도록 그 초청범위를 확대함으로써 명실상부한 작가축제로 거듭났다. 24인의 초청작가 중 국내작가는 『달려라 아비』의 김애란, 『새벽의 나나』의 박형서, 『일요일 스키야키 식당』의 배수아, 『두 생애』의 정찬, 『사육장 쪽으로』의 편혜영 (이상 소설가), 『황금 나무 아래서』의 권혁웅, 『검은 나나의 꿈』의 김민정, 『이별의 능력』의 김행숙, 『사라진 손바닥』의 나희덕, 『최승호 시인의 말놀이 동시집』의 최승호 (이상 시인), 『아로와 완전한 세계』의 김혜진, 『자존심』의 김남중 (이상 아동문학가)이다. 해외에서는 미국에서『오스카 와오의 짧고 놀라운 삶』으로 퓰리처상을 받은 주노 디아즈와 『백만장자를 위한 공짜 음식』의 재미소설가 이민진이 참가하며, 『펠리칸 맨』의 레나 크론 (핀란드), 『펭귄의 우울』시리즈의 안드레이 쿠르코브 (우크라이나), 『레이캬비크 101』의 하들그리뮈르 헬가손 (아이슬란드) (이상 소설가), 마야 리 랭그바드, 에드윈 썸부, 비벡 나라야난, 이네스 아바시, 질 시르 (이상 시인), 『두 사람』의 이보나 흐미옐레프스카 (폴란드), 『나야? 고양이야?』의 기타무라 사토시(일본) (이상 아동문학가)등이 참가한다.

  □ 한국문학번역원이 주최하고 Yes 24가 후원하는 ‘2010 세계작가축제’는 5월 10일(월)과 11일(화)에 남산에 위치한 문학의 집에서 낭독회와 작가들의 수다로 시작된다. 아동문학을 시작으로 소설, 시 분야로 이어지는 낭독회는 국내작가 1인, 해외작가 1인으로 한 팀을 이룬 작가들이 한국 독자들에게 소개하고 싶은 작품을 직접 낭독한다. 낭독회에 참가한 작가들은 연이어 “작가들의 수다”를 벌임으로써 본인의 작품세계나 작품 구상 과정 등 독자들이 궁금해 하는 부분에 대해 이야기한다. 이번 작가들의 수다의 주제는 “내 작품 속의 환상” 이다. 특히 둘째 날에는 생명이 움트는 봄 저녁의 기운을 느끼며 시 낭송을 감상할 수 있도록 두 편의 공연도 예정되어 있다. 2006, 2008년 축제에 연달아 참가하고, 2008년 기획위원으로도 활동한 바 있는 성기완 작가가 이끄는 3호선 버터플라이의 공연과 통기타 선율 하나로 표현하는 음악세계로 유명한 인디 뮤지션 이장혁이 공연을 펼친다.

   □ 12일(수)~13일(목) 이틀에 걸쳐 전주 한옥마을 체험에 나서는 참가 작가들은 15일 (금)에 다시 서울에서 모인다. 이번 축제에 참가하기 위해 서울을 방문한 외국작가들은 서울 국제도서전 현장을 방문해 “세계작가축제 참가 작가들과 함께”라는 행사 제목으로 낭독회 및 사인회를 가진다. 행사는 11시에 시작하며 외국 시인 5인 (마야 리 랭그바드, 에드윈 썸부, 비벡 나라야난, 이네스 아바시, 질 시르)이 낭독회를, 외국 소설가 5인 (주노 디아즈, 이민진, 레나 크론, 안드레이 쿠르코브, 하들그리뮈르 헬가손)이 사인회를 가진다. 국내에 아동 팬을 다수 확보하고 있는 이보나 흐미엘레프스카(폴란드)와 기타무라 사토시(일본)는 각각 12시 30분과 2시에 한 시간씩 독자들과 만나 작품 낭독 뿐 아니라, 작품 탄생 과정에 대한 전반적인 이야기를 나눈다. 이 날 참가 작가들의 도서전 방문은 축제 초두에 이틀에 걸쳐 열린 낭독회에 미처 참가하지 못한 국내 독자들에게 귀한 기회가 될 것이다. 해당 작가의 도서를 미리 구매한 독자들은 방문 시 작가들의 사인을 직접 받을 수 있으며, 현장에서 할인된 가격에 도서를 구매할 수도 있다. 

   □ 한국문학번역원에서 야심차게 준비한 ‘2010 세계작가축제’가 한국의 대표적인 국제 문학 축제로 발전해 한국문학의 세계화의 기여할 수 있을지 관심이 집중되고 있다. 행사 참가를 원하는 독자는 5월 6일(목)까지 Yes 24 인터넷 홈페이지를 통해 5월 10일(월)과 11일(화) 양일에 걸쳐 진행되는 낭독회와 작가들의 수다 프로그램 참가 신청을 할 수 있으며, 당일 입장도 가능하다. Yes 24를 통해 두 개 이상의 프로그램을 신청한 6일들을 대상으로 14일(금) 코엑스에서 열리는 “세계작가축제 참가 작가들과 함께” 행사에 참가할 수 있도록 서울 국제 도서전 입장권도 제공된다는 점도 눈여겨볼만 하다.

시	1	권혁웅 Kwon, Hyeok-woong	1967년 충북 충주에서 태어났고, 고려대 국문과와 동대학원을 졸업했다. 1996년 『중앙일보』 신춘문예에 비평이, 1997년 『문예중앙』에 시가 당선되었다. 시집으로 『마징가 계보학』 『그 얼굴에 입술을 대다』 『황금나무 아래서』가 있으며 현대시 동인상, 시인협회 젊은시인상을 수상했다. 현재 한양여대 문창과 교수로 있다.	Born in 1967 in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, Kwon Hyeok-woong studied Korean literature (BA, MA and PhD) at Korea University. In 1996, he won a prize for literary criticism in the annual contest hosted by the JoongAng Ilbo newspaper, and in poetry the next year through Literary JoongAng, a quarterly magazine. His poetry collections are Geneology of Mazinger, Touching Lips to That Face, and Under the Golden Tree. He has received an award from the Contemporary Poetry Coterie and the Young Poet Award from the Association of Korean Poets. Currently he is a professor in the department of creative writing at Hanyang Women’s University.
	2	김민정 Kim, Min Jeong	1976년 인천에서 태어났다. 중앙대학교 문예창작학과 및 동대학원을 수료했다. 1999년 『문예중앙』 신인문학상에 시 『검은 나나의 꿈』이 당선되어 등단했다. 시집 『날으는 고슴도치 아가씨』 『그녀가 처음, 느끼기 시작했다』가 있다. 2007년 박인환문학상을 수상했다.	Kim Min-jeong was born in 1976 in Incheon and majored in creative writing at Chung-Ang University. She won the Prize for New Figures in Poetry hosted by Literary JoongAng, a quarterly magazine, with poems including “Black Nana’s Dream.” She has published two poetry collections, Flying Miss Hedgehog and For the First Time, She Began to Feel. She was also the winner of the 2007 Pak In-hwan Literary Award.
	3	김행숙 Kim, Haeng-sook	1970년 서울에서 태어나 고려대 국어교육과와 동대학원 국문과를 졸업했다. 1999년 『현대문학』을 통해 등단하여 『사춘기』와 『이별의 능력』 두 권의 시집을 냈다. 그 외에 『문학이란 무엇이었는가』 『창조와 폐허를 가로지르다』 『마주침의 발명』 등의 책을 썼다. ‘동료들이 뽑은 올해의 젊은 시인’, ‘노작문학상’을 수상하였다. 현재 강남대학교 국문과 교수로 재직하고 있다.	Born in 1970 in Seoul, Kim Haeng-sook studied at Korea University, majoring in Korean language education (BA) and Korean language and literature (MA). 	5	최승호 Choi, Seung-Ho	1954년 강원도 춘천에서 태어났고, 1977년 『현대시학』으로 등단했다. 시집 『대설주의보』 『세속도시의 즐거움』 『고비』 『그로테스크』 와 동시집 『최승호 시인의 말놀이 동시집 1-5』 시선집 『얼음의 자서전』등을 냈다. 오늘의작가상, 김수영문학상, 미당문학상, 대산문학상, 현대문학상을 받았다.	Born in 1954 in Chuncheon, Kangwon Province, Choi Seung-ho started his literary career through Contemporary Poetry, a monthly magazine, in 1977. He has written many books, including the poetry collections Heavy Snowfall Watch, Enjoying a Worldly City, The Gobi, and Grotesque, the children’s poetry collections Poet Choi Seung-ho’s Fun Pun Collection of Children’s Poems Volumes 1-5, and a self-selected poetry collection titled The Autobiography of Ice. His awards include the Today’s Writer Award, the Kim Su-yeong Literary Award, the Midang Literary Award, the Daesan Literary Award and the Contemporary Literature Award.
아동	1	김남중 Kim, Nam-joong	1972년 전북 익산에서 태어났고, 원광대 국어국문학과를 졸업했다. 2004년에 동화 『덤벼라, 곰!』으로 제5회 문학동네어린이문학상을, 장편 소년소설 『기찻길 옆 동네』로 제8회 창비 ‘좋은 어린이책’ 원고 공모 창작 부문 대상을 받았다. 동화집 『자존심』으로 2006년 ‘올해의 예술상’을 받았다. 그동안 『들소의 꿈』 『하늘을 날다』 『살아 있었니』 『불량한 자전거 여행』등을 썼으며, 『간디의 뒤를 따라서』를 우리말로 옮겼다.	Born in 1972 in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, Kim Nam-joong studied Korean literature at Wonkwang University. He received the 5th Munhak Dongne Children’s Literature Prize for Come on, Bear!, the 8th Changbi Good Children’s Book Award for The Railroad Neighborhood, and the Art of the Year Award from Arts Council Korea for Pride. He also penned Bison’s Dream, Fly in the Sky, Have You Been Alive?, and The Erratic Bike Trip and translated the book After Gandhi into Korean.
	2	김혜진 Kim, Hye-jin	1979년 서울에서 태어나 연세대 정치외교학과를 졸업하고 2003년 완전한 세계와 불완전한 세계의 관계를 다루는 판타지 동화 『아로와 완전한 세계』로 대산창작기금을 받으면서 이야기를 쓰기 시작했다. 완전한 세계를 배경으로 『지팡이 경주』 『아무도 모르는 색깔』을 썼으며, 각 책에 직접 삽화를 그렸다. 이후 영국에서 일러스트레이션을 공부하기도 했다. 그 밖의 작품으로는 청소년 소설 『프루스트 클럽』이 있고, 『대학이 이런 거야?』『세상에서 가장 아름다운 곳』『지붕 위에서』를 번역했다.	Born in 1979 in Seoul, Kim Hye-jin graduated from the department of political science and international studies at Yonsei University. In 2003, she was given the Daesan Creative Writing Fund for her fantasy novel for children Aro and the Perfect World, which illuminates the relationship between two worlds—one perfect and one imperfect. She has written two novels, The Cane Race and The Unknown Color, both set in the Perfect World, and did the artwork for both books herself. After that she flew to Britain to study illustration further. She has also written a young adults’ novel, Proust Club, and translated several books into Korean—Is There Life After Graduation, Henry Birnbaum?, The Most Beautiful Place in the World, and Getting Near to Baby.

소설	2	미국	이민진 Min Jin Lee	한인 1.5세 재미교포 소설가 이민진의 데뷔작 『백만장자를 위한 공짜 음식』은 뉴욕타임즈 에디터스 초이스, 월스트리트 저널 저글 북클럽 베스트셀러로 선정되었다. 또한 런던 타임즈, 미국 공영 방송, USA 투데이 등에서 ‘올해의 소설 베스트 10’ 명단에 오르기도 했다. 이후 이민진은 뉴욕예술재단에서 수여하는 소설상을 비롯하여 미주리 리뷰에서 수여하는 페덴상, 신인작가에게 주어지는 내러티브상 등을 수상했고, 미국 공영 방송은 그녀의 소설을 인기 단편소설로 선정했다. 그녀는 콘데 내스트 트래블러, 런던 타임즈, 보그 미국판, 월스트리트 저널, 푸드&와인 등에 글을 기고했고, 국내에서는 조선일보 아침논단 칼럼니스트로 세 번째 시즌을 연재 중이다. 이민진은 현재 남편, 아들과 함께 도쿄에서 살면서 두 번째 소설인 『파칭코』를 준비하고 있다. Leena Krohn was born in 1947. She has written 30 books in Finnish including novels, short stories, essays and children's books. Her books have been translated into 15 languages: English, Bulgarian, Estonian, French, Hungarian, Japanese, Latvian, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Italian, German, Korean and Lithuanian. She did the artwork in several books herself, but her sister, Inari Krohn, did the job in most of her books. What she mostly talks about in her books is the relation between fiction and reality, art and morality, perception and imagination. The technological evolution is also one of her interests. She thinks the fantasy can sometimes be the shortest way to the truth. In her novel, Datura, she says that the reality is only a hypothesis, an agreement that we are not even aware we have made, an illusion that everyone experiences. Living in a symbiosis, fiction and reality cannot be torn apart. Perception and imagination are not two things working respectively. That is, our world is an extraordinary reality built both on facts and on illusions. Krohn has received several prizes, including the Finlandia Prize for literature in 1992. Her short story, Tainaron: Mail From Another City, was nominated for the World Fantasy Award and International Horror Guild Award in 2005. She currently lives on the southern coast of Finland with her husband Mikael Book and two cats. She also has a journalist son, Elias.

Hallgrimur Helgason is an Icelandic writer and artist born in 1959. He started out as a painter and has held numerous exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. For ten years he lived in New York and Paris. Since 1990 he has published seven novels and a collection of poetry, and in 2001 he was awarded the Icelandic Literary Prize for his novel, The Author of Iceland. His best known books are 101 Reykjavik (1996), which was filmed, and Stormland (2005) that will soon be a movie. Both were nominated to the Nordic Literary Prize. He has also written for the stage, translated books including Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, and has three months of experience as a stand-up comedian. In Iceland, he has been active in political debating and written countless articles in the newspapers for over 20 years. His best known artwork is his own alter-ego, the cartoon character Grim.

Ukrainian writer, Andrey Kurkov, was born in Leningrad in 1961 and spent his childhood in Kiev, Ukraine. He writes screenplays, essays, novels(including Death and the Penguin, The President’s Last Love, The Night Milkman), and books for children. His books have been translated into 33 languages. There are more than 20 films (features, documentaries, shorts and TV-films) based on his scripts. In 1997, He was shortlisted by European Film Academy in Berlin for Best European Screen-writer Award for his filmscript A Friend of the Deceased (Ukraine-France). In 2001, he was awarded the Writer of the Year in Ukraine. His book, Death and the Penguin, was voted‘ The book of the year’in Basel, Switzerland, in 2002. He writes reviews, essays and articles for The Guardian,New Statesman, Die Welt, ueddeutsche Zeitung and others. He is also a member of European Film Academy, Writers’Union of Ukraine and International an-Booker Prize committee. He now lives in Kiev, Ukraine with his wife and three children.

Born in 1980, Maja Lee Langvad is a Korean-Danish writer. After graduating from The Danish Writer’s School in 2003, she made her debut with Find Holger Danske, (“Find Ogier the Dane”), a collection of conceptual poetry and prose, in 2006. The book illustrates a wide range of matters including adoption, national identity, racism, and immigration and refugee policies in Denmark. She is also a translator (translated Fragebogen (”Questionnaires”) by Max Frisch, a famous Swiss author, into Danish), the co-editor of the literary magazine Banana Split since 2004, and has been collaborating with visual artists, film directors, and musicians for the past ten years. She has received several awards and grants including a three year work grant from The Danish Arts Foundation. At the moment, she is writing a collection of conceptual poetry and prose about international adoption and her experiences living in South Korea. The excerpt shown here is taken from that work.

Studies of his work include Responsibility and Commitment: The Poetry of Edwin Thumboo (Ee Tiang Hong; 1997), Edwin Thumboo: Creating a Nation through Poetry (Peter Nazareth; 2008), and Essays on Edwin Thumboo (JJ Webster ed; 2008). Edwin Thumboo Bibliography 1952 ~ 2008 (R Ramachandran & Phan Ming Yen) appeared in 2008. He received the NBC Singapore Book Award for Poetry in English thrice (1978, 1980, 1994), Southeast Asian Writers’ Award (1979), Singapore Cultural Medallion (1980), ASEAN Cultural and Communication Award in Literature (1987) and the Raja Rao Award (2002). As a fellow of the International Writing Programme, University of Iowa (1977), he has given readings in various universities and international literary festivals and book fairs. He is Founding General Editor of the series, Writing Asia: The Literatures in English of which the most recent volume is a Two-part Studies in Contemporary Singaporean-Malaysian Literature (2008).

Vivek Narayanan was born in India in 1972 to Tamil-speaking parents. He has lived, worked and studied in a number of countries, including Zambia, South Africa and the U.S. In 2006, He published his first collection of poems Universal Beach (Mumbai: Harbour Line, 2006), and both prose and poetry can be found widely online and in print, including in some recent anthologies: 60 Indian Poets (Penguin India, 2007); The Bloodaxe Book of Contemporary Indian Poetry (Bloodaxe, 2008); Language for a New Century: Contemporary Poetry from the Middle East, Asia, and Beyond (W.W. Norton, 2008). He also explores different approaches to reading and performing. He has tried to fuse poetry with other forms in a series of collaborations, experimenting with technology, physical space, movement, site-specific poetry and audience-generated poetry. Narayanan is Consulting Editor for the online journal, Almost Island (almostisland.com) and an Associate Editor for the Boston-based poetry annual, Fulcrum; he normally works in Delhi at Sarai-CSDS (www.sarai.net), but is currently on sabbatical in Chennai.
시	4	튀니지	이네스 아바시 Ines Abassi	이네스 아바시는 1982년에 출생한 튀니지의 시인이자 작가이며, 아랍에미리트에서 저널리스트로도 활동하고 있다. 2004년 튀니지에서 출간된 시집 『바람의 비밀』은 당해 최고의 시집으로 선정되었다. 2007년에는 이집트에서 출간된 『어둠의 기록』으로 튀니지 여성가족부 산하 기관인 CREDIF에서 수여하는 상을 2007년부터 2년 연속 수상했다. 아바시는 제1회 아랍 청년 문학 페스티벌(오만), 문학 페스티벌(요르단), 아시아-아프리카 문학 페스티벌(전주, 한국)등의 다양한 문학 행사에 참여했으며 한국문학번역원의 작가 레지던스 프로그램으로 서울에 육 개월간 체류하기도 했다. 이때의 경험을 바탕으로 쓰여진 『코리안 세헤라자데』는 레바논에서 출간되었다. 현재 그녀는 시와 번역을 포함한 작품들을 꾸준히 발표하고 있으며 작품이 발표된 지면은 “알 에티하드”, “두바이 알 싸카피아” (아랍에미리트)”, “알 아랍”(런던), ”알 사하파”(튀니지), “알 와탄(요르단)”, “키타밧 무아시라(레바논)” 등이 있다.	Ines Abassi was born in 1982 in Tunisia. She is a poet, writer and journalist in UAE. In 2004, her poetry collection Secrets of the Wind was published in Tunisia, winning the best selection of poetry that year. In 2007, Archive of Blind was published in Egypt. That won her the CREDIF prize, awarded by the Tunisian Ministry of Women’s Centre for Search, Study, Documentation and Information on Women, in 2007 and 2008. She has  participated in numerous literary activities: The first Arab Youth Literature Festival in Oman, Literature Festival in Jordan, Asia Africa Literature Festival in Jeonju, Korea. She has also spent six months in Seoul as a participant of the Residency Programs for International Writers offered by LTI Korea. Based on her experience during the period,she wrote a narrative book, Tales of Korean Shahrazad. This book, published in Lebanon, talks about Korean society, culture, history and habitudes. Her works,including poems, stories and translations, appear on a variety of media - newspapers,magazines and websites such as al etihad (UAE), al arab (London), al sahafa, alhayat athatkafia (Tunisia), al watan Jordan), kitabat mouasira (Lebanon) and dubai al thaqafia (UAE).

Gilles Cyr is a poet, translator and the director of a poetry series at Editions de l’Hexagone (Montreal). Most recent book published is Fruits et frontières (Editions de l’Hexagone, 2006). Cyr has translated into French: 1) three books of South Korean poetry (Cho Jungkwon, Ko Un and an anthology), in collaboration with Han Daekyun; 2) a book of Persian poetry (Hossein Sharang) with Bahman Sadighi; and 3) poems from English (Pat Boran, Susan Gillis, Gerald Mangan, Lorine Niedecker, Al Pittman, David Solway), Spanish (Benjamin Valdivia), Georgian (Otar Urushadze) with the help of Nino Sanikidze, Italian (Daniele Pieroni, Pietro Tripodo), and Polish (Miron Bialoszewski).
아동	1	폴란드	이보나 흐미엘레프스카 Iwona Chmielewska	이보나 흐미엘레프스카는 1960년생으로 폴란드의 중세도시 토루인에 있는 코페르니쿠스 대학에서 그래픽아트를 공부했다. 네 아이의 엄마이기도 한 그녀는 다양한 미술 분야에서 활동하다가 지금은 그림책 작가로 살고 있다. 20여권이 넘는 책을 출간하였고 그 중 12권에 글과 그림을 동시에 작업하였다. 글과 그림으로 어떻게 그림책을 만드는지에 대해 모교에서 학생들을 가르치고 있기도 하다. 이지원의 번역으로 한국에서 출판된 열 권의 책은 십만 부 넘게 팔렸으며, 다섯 군데의 출판사에서 여러 명의 작가와 함께 작품을 만들고 있다. 쓰고 그린 그림책으로 『안녕 유럽』(보림), 『파란막대 파란상자』(사계절), 『두 사람』(사계절), 『생각』(논장), 『반이나 차 있을까 반밖에 없을까?』(논장) 등이 있으며, 『생각하는 ABC』(논장)로 브라티슬라바 비엔날레의 황금사과상을 받았다.	Born in 1960, Iwona Chmielewska studied graphic art at the fine art department of the Copernicus University, Torun. Active as an illustrator and writer, she also designs original books and teaches classes to senior students of the fine art department's art education division at Copernicus University. She makes picture books and works on the play between text and picture. She has published most of her authored books in Korea (all of them translated by Jiwone Lee), which sold more than 100 thousand copies. She cooperates with writers and five publishers in Korea. Major books published abroad include: Thoughts, Toes: Wondering before Sleeping, Blue Stick/Blue Box, Half full or half empty, Two people, Hello Europe, Four sides of the time, Thinking 123 and Thinking ABC picture dictionary, which won the 2007 BIB Golden Apple Award.
아동	2	일본	기타무라 사토시 Satoshi Kitamura	기타무라 사토시는 1956년 일본 도쿄에서 태어났다. 1975년부터 광고와 잡지 일러스트레이터로 활동하다가 1979년 영국으로 이주해 영국 출판사와 함께 동화책 작업을 했다. 하원 오람이 글을 쓴 기타무라의 첫 번째 그림책 『성난 아서』는 마더구스 상을 받았다. 이후 그는 직접 쓰고 그린 동화책들도 내고, 로저 맥거프, 존 아가르드 등의 시인과 함께 작업하기도 했다. 이처럼 그림책 출판이 그가 전념하는 일이지만, 신문이나 잡지에도 정기적으로 삽화를 그려주고 있다. 1983년부터 2009년까지는 영국에서, 현재는 일본에 거주 중이다.	Satoshi Kitamura was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1956. He started illustrating for advertising companies and magazines in 1975. In 1979, he went to England and later began doing the artwork for picture books from British publishers. His first book, Angry Arthur (text by Hiawyn Oram) won Mother Goose Award. Since then he has written and illustrated several picture books and worked with poets such as Roger McGough and John Agard. Producing picture books is his main work but he also provides illustrations to newspapers and periodicals regularly. From 1983 to 2009 he lived in London, UK. Now he works and lives in Japan.
